Two Month “Milestones” - Babycenter

Mastered Skills (most kids can do)
Vocalizes: gurgles and coos – yep, but only if he is smiling!
Follows objects - He’ll follow his favourite toys (mr froggy and chloe the cow), mummy and daddy and Paulie.
Holds head up for short periods – Both off my chest and up off the floor!

Emerging Skills (half of kids can do)
Smiles, laughs – Can’t start smiling and if what he is doing isn’t laughing, he must be extremely close to it.
Holds head at 45-degree angle – Only for short periods of time during tummy time, it makes him uber tired.
Movements become smoother – Still a little jerky if he is sleepy.

Advanced Skills (a few kids can do)
Holds head steady – Yep, only way to look at everything.
Can bear weight on legs – Yes, he thinks it’s great fun!
Lifts head and shoulders when lying on tummy (mini-pushup) – Yep, but once again only for short periods.

One Month “Milestones” - Babycenter

Mastered Skills (most kids can do)
Lifts head – He does this, and often thinks his neck is stronger than it is and then slams his head into someone’s head.
Responds to sound – J jumps when someone sneezes, or when the dog barks or when someone slams a door. He also will turn his head to the lullaby toy he has.
Stares at faces – Yep, stares like Oli and I are crazy looking people.

Emerging Skills (half of kids can do)
Follows objects - I think he does this, he follows our faces, or a squeaky toy but only if you’re making noises and moving slowly.
Oohs and aahs – I don’t think he does this, he grunts and eeps but doesn’t ooh or aah.
Can see black-and-white patterns – He looks at black and white toys, but I have no idea if he sees black & white?

Advanced Skills (a few kids can do)
Smiles - Nope, just gas smiles.
Laughs – Nope.
Holds head at 45-degree angle – If he is on someone’s chest, but not off the floor.
